One of the first contemporary additions to Toronto’s Junction, DUKE Condos (the name is derived from its location at Dundas and Keele Streets) diversifies, intensifies and reignites the Junction.
Quadrangle was commissioned by TAS to design the seven-storey infill condo building in a carefully nuanced contemporary style that would leverage the area’s existing architectural significance while also building on it, and to build into that design the flexibility to tailor the building’s units to meet specific market requests.
Along Dundas Street West, the buildings’ ‘eroded’ white brick façade creates contextual datum lines that address the various heights and proportions of the neighbouring structures while also anticipating connections with future ones.
Brick used
White Clinker brick is characterized by being very smooth, the smoothest there is. Its color is pure white and water absorption is less than 6% ideal for cold climates.
This eclectic white brick facade has been manufactured by us in Spain in our factory in Illescas.
